ALVARINHO
Described as ‘Fashionable, high-quality, fresh aromatic’ by Jancis Robinson in Wine Grapes, this is a not-to-be-missed grape. Native to the border between Northern Portugal and Spain, the resulting wines are a powerhouse of acidity, fruit, and floral notes.

VINEYARD CHARACTERISTICS
Sourced from small vineyards plots that are in the best ‘Alvarinho’ growing region in Portugal, these vines were planted from 1910-2005. Lying close to the banks of the Minho river, these grapes express a perfect harmony of sun and sea. Sustainably grown in granite soils.

DATE HARVESTED Late August/Early September
 

PROCESS: In order to extract as much fruit and floral character as possible, a long cool fermentation takes place. After racking and a primary filtration, the wine undergoes a cold stabilization, before being
transferred to stainless steel for 4 months.

TASTING
An explosion of citrus and floral notes greets the nose. On the palate, lime and yellow apple flavors are rounded out by a saline finish, with hints of a floral undertone. Simply delicious!
